The Spring season will start mid-

March with league games being played in April and May. KVSL will have traditional league play for teams as usual. The cost is $55.00. Registration will close for Spring 2024 on March 20th

Thank you for visiting Kanawha Valley United (KVU), a member club of the Kanawha Valley Soccer League (KVSL).

We are a recreational soccer club for players 4 to 19 years of age in the St. Albans, Nitro, Cross Lanes, and Poca areas. Our goal is to introduce children to the sport of soccer while teaching sportsmanship and allowing them to make new friends.

We offer fall and spring seasons, with each lasting for about 8 weeks. The Fall season is for U4 to U12 players. The Spring season expands to include teams for both middle and high school. U4 players participate in a developmental program that involves one training session each week for eight weeks. They do not play scheduled games. Players age U5 to U8 typically practice one night per week and have a game on Saturday. Players age U10 and above usually practice twice per week with a game on Saturday. U10 and U12 teams will participate in the KVSL Recreational Tournament each season as part of their schedule. The Tournament is held at the Shawnee Soccer Complex.

Practices are held during the week at Columbia Gas Fields in St. Albans. Home games for U5 to U8 are also held at this location with away games played throughout the Kanawha Valley. Many games for U9 and above will be played at the Shawnee Soccer Complex.

Registration is $90 per player. Families registering more than one child will receive a $10 discount for each additional player. Registration covers both fall and spring seasons and includes a uniform. Parents must purchase soccer cleats, shin guards, and a ball. The registration fee is used to pay state insurance, league fees, maintenance, and reserves.

As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on help from parents and families to help coach, manage teams and field maintenance. If you are interested in getting involved, we would love to have you!
